Happy Birthday Note

When I awoke this morning
And rose up from my bed
I found a little something
Just waiting to be read.

It said 'Happy Birthday'
And other words of care
It really made me feel quite good
So I went to brush my hair.

And in the mirror looking back
Another note I saw
It made my eyes light up right then
My mouth begin to grin.

So when I went into the loo
As is my want to do
I found another note for me
To stop me feeling blue.

And then at my next port of call
To make a cup of tea
I'll only give you half a guess
At what was waiting there for me.

I went to light the fire
And stood against the door
A picture of me - freezing cold
And above it there was more.

This note said 'Happy Birthday'
With crosses placed below
By now the grin across my face
Showed how my heart was all aglow.

I sat down at the table
Feeling really good
Another note stared back at me
I laughed, she knew I would

Everywhere I looked around
I do not mind which way
There positively could not be
A better way to start the day.
